CARH Founding Member and Former President Jack Godin Dies
Jack Godin, one of CARH's founding members and President from 1988-1990, died on Sunday, February 28, 2010, after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in December. Jack Godin was President of Southern Development Company, a full service development company that built, managed and owned hundreds of affordable housing complexes in rural and urban areas throughout Alabama. Jack was your quintessential "southern gentleman" who was admired by his colleagues for his work and dedication to the affordable housing industry. He will be missed by all who knew him and worked with him.
The funeral will be on Wednesday, March 3; with visitation at 1:00 p.m. and a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at the Dexter Avenue Methodist Church Building, at 301 Dexter Avenue, Montgomery, Alabama. The Godin family has requested that no flowers be sent, but memorials may be made in Jack's name to his church, Christ Church XP Building Fund, 8800 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36117 or to the American Cancer Society.
CARH sends our deepest sympathies to Jack's family at their loss. |
